Why you should think outside the box this Valentine’s day

February is coming up and everyone is going to be promoting all sorts of Valentine’s day specials and so will I. This Valentine’s Day I urge you to think outside the box of chocolates and choose a couples portrait session instead. On a personal level I have always rebelled against this holiday. Don’t get me wrong I love LOVE, and I especially love to capture it with my lens. How do I say this without shooting myself in the foot, it’s my opinion that the commercial side of this holiday is one of the worst, buying a box of chocolates one day a year does not show your Sweetie how much you really love them. Nor does a boudoir session if I may be so bold as to go against my own profession. I strongly believe every woman should book a boudoir session at least once in her life, or once a decade for that matter. If she choses to share with her partner, great, but a boudoir session should be about self love first and gifting later. Yes, I am full of opinions on this matter, but that is a post for another day. Today I want to talk, couples portrait sessions.

Do you love your Sweetie? Silly question right? Why not celebrate that with a gift that will give you a little more back each day for a lifetime of memories. Time is fleeting, you always think there is more time, but the truth is that there isn’t more time. One day you wake up and you realize it’s been 15/20/40 years since your wedding and that was the last time you took a picture with your significant other, or even worse you never have. Am I wrong? Time to rectify that and what better way to celebrate the day of Love than with a portrait of just the two of you. No, you can’t sneak the family in and just take a couple poses of the two of you and kill two birds with one stone. This is all about the two of you, no kids allowed!

This February my special will be celebrating couples. When was the last time you had a really beautiful/sexy/emotional portrait of you and your sweetie? It’s past time. Contact me: sherry@sherrypenner.com and let’s start planning a perfect Valentine’s gift for the two of you.
