Monica L. {Fab@40+ Project} | Sherry Penner

Today I would like to share with you Monica’s Fab@40+ session. I could tell when I first met Monica at the consultation that she was nervous about the whole thought of this “glamour” portrait project. Well maybe nervous isn’t quite the right word, more skeptical. I could tell she was curious, she wanted to see herself in portraits, see how glamorous she could be but she was doubtful. She describes herself to me as a country mouse and wasn’t quite sure how she would fit in to this project.

She tried to back out, in her mind probably more than once, but only once did she messaged me saying she didn’t think this was for her. She didn’t feel like she would fit in after seeing all the beautiful ladies who had already had their shoots. What she was really needing was just a little encouragement so I told her she would regret it if she didn’t try, she had nothing to lose if she didn’t like any of her portraits she didn’t have to buy them. I could tell from her message that she did not want to back out, that she really really wanted to see her gorgeoous self and be a part of this club of beautiful women. On the day of her shoot she was still doubtful but she was courageous, she showed up, she got dolled up, she brought her fancy outfits and sparkly shoes and she said, “okay I will trust you.”

All I could hope was that I could show Monica that she was indeed part of this beautiful group of women and she could confidently show her images to the world just like all the other brave women are doing. And we nailed it. She trusted me and put herself out there and opened up, and Country Mouse is really a Country Fox if you ask me.

Here is Monica, aka Country Fox.
