Meet Lonita, she is Fabulous and 41. She was born in Ontario and moved out to AB in 2000, she lived in Sylvan Lake for 20 years and now calls Calgary home. She has 3 kids, loves the mountains and has recently gone back to school for Architecture Drafting and Design.
Lonita wanted to do this project because she loves the message we are trying to build here. She started a foundation for domestic violence called BRAVE and is working on a play with that theme that will open December 29th in Calgary. This project is part of her own personal journey with trauma healing, and it has been a deep and emotional process for her.
She has started doing things for herself, going places she wants to go regardless if she has someone to go with her or not. She is a fun and vibrant woman who considers herself a “nerd”! And loves learning. Originally she wanted to do a theme on Albert Einstein but then decided on a Medusa theme because she feels Medusa’s story is a powerful one. To say I am excited to create her art portrait would be an understatement.
