Kate says she joined this project because she was pressured by Sara (here sister in law, and also a member of the 2022 project) and Robyn (our HMUA), but in all seriousness she wanted to be a part of it because she believes strongly in the message we are sending to women and celebrating being over the age of 40.
Kate is 43. She is a branch manager at a bank, a position she worked hard for and is proud of achieving. It was not easy for her to reach branch manager and like many women she was told to just be happy with where she wass and do her work until she moved banks and they recognized her leadership and eagerness to work her way up. When she isn’t working she likes gardening, reading, and is very involved in Red Deer Sea Cadets.
Kate has a strong no nonsense personality when you first meet her. I know her so far for a day but I would say she is bold and not afraid to speak her mind, but when she came for her portrait viewing and saw the results of her images she was emotional and awed by what we had created together. She came in with a “do with me what you want” attitude and her art portrait will be amazing! I can’t wait to start working on it.

This project is probably one of the best ideas anyone has had. Sherry and Robyn, you guys made me feel so comfortable and confident. I am so glad I did it!! All the women’s pictures I am seeing are breath talking. I can’t wait for October!
