This is Charlene, 68 years Fabulous. It’s her Birthday on Friday so let’s leave her some Happy Birthday Love in the comments!
Charlene works as an office manager for our local hockey team. She has two grown children and 5 grandchildren. She grew up in Rolling Hills, AB, moved to Calgary and then north to Red Deer in 2019. She is on a journey of self discovery. She’s learning to be independent, to be fearless and do the things that scare her. She travelled to Iceland all on her own, she started her trip full of fear but pushed through and came home a more confident person, and she is very proud that she followed that through.
She says she has allowed herself to sit in the shadows most of her life, and her advice to her younger self would be to wait to get married and to learn to first rely on yourself. Charlene loves museums, old movies, bowling, tarot, energy readings, positivity and mostly to research things, she is a perpetual learner.
Her favourite saying is “Oh it’s a Charlene moment!”
Having Charlene be a part of this project renews to me exactly why this kind of a portrait experience is important to women, and just a little shout out and to shout it out loud: it’s never to late to celebrate you and to charge off on a new and joy filled adventure. It was so nice to be a part of Charlene’s shining moment.
