Last week I had Melanie in the studio for her Fab@40+ Session. Melanie is an athletic therapist and owner of Collegiate Sports Medicine, she told me that she got in to sports medicine after she had sustained an injury in college that kept her from playing on the college volleyball team and this led her to her career in sports medicine. She has built a successful career and business in the field of rehabilitation in high level sport, including working with many professional athletes. Her business has won many awards and I mention it because I have a passion about women in business. It’s still a man’s world out there in almost every industry and being a woman in business, in the sports industry, is one of those where fighting for equality and recognition is a steep mountain to climb. It is obvious Melanie is very proud of what she has built and I applaud that.
Melanie turned 50, just a few days ago. She has taken up pottery, originally we had talked about doing an art portrait focusing on her new hobby but we will save that for another time.
Here is Melanie.
