Today I will share with you Deb’s session. To tell the truth I have been stalling a little to tell Deb’s story because I can’t find the right words. I have had hard stories to tell before, you don’t get to your 40’s and beyond and not have hard stories to tell or to listen to, but it doesn’t get easier. Deb’s husband Cory has a terminal illness and she is completely wrapped up in all that entails. Taking care of Cory and making the most of each day is what she does. She joined the project because she needed something to be for her, Cory encouraged her to take the day for herself, tho she confessed she wanted to cancel. I imagine taking a day for yourself in times like these can come with a load of guilt with it. It shouldn’t, no one would want that for her, but it does all the same. I am grateful to share this moment in time with Deb, and to give her a few hours to lift her spirits.
Deb has a very strong spirit, she smiled and laughed and danced and gave herself over to the experience. Deb is 45, her fav colour is red, she loves true crime stories and is a health care aid who lives in Bashaw. We have a fabulous group of ladies in this years project all from Bashaw, AB!
Deb, I want to thank you for sharing your smile with the rest of us. This group of women in the Fab@40+ Project might be strangers in the real world but we are all here to lift each other up and our hearts will be with you and Cory on this journey.
